Roger Keen, CPA, CGA

Roger Keen, as a member of the Neverest team, delivers customized training for individuals within corporations, the public sector and professional institutes, covering a variety of disciplines, including accounting & finance and risk management.

Roger has a broad variety of experience including financial management, financial analysis, budgeting, strategic planning, performance reporting, contract negotiation and management, and policy development.

Roger was trained as an industrial chemist in London, England. He began his working career in Canada in the plastics and electronics industries. He obtained a second degree in chemistry at the University of Western Ontario in London, Ontario. Roger started working in the federal government in 1974 as a procurement officer and retired in 2005 as the chief, financial policy interpretation and financial training for Health Canada. In 2002-03 he was posted to Vancouver where he was the acting regional director, finance and administration, for Health Canada’s BC/Yukon Region.

He was elected to CGA Ontario’s board of governors in 2006 for three years. He is the past chair of the appeals committee. In 2008-09, Roger was chair of the research committee and sat on the chapter committee. Prior to which, he was on the professional standards and competence committee where he chaired the exemptions sub-committee. Currently, Roger also volunteers as the editor of the Financial Management Institute journal.
