Jane M. Bowen, FCPA, FCA
Jane Bowen, as Executive Director at Neverest, designs, develops and delivers customized training for individuals within corporations, the public sector, professional institutes and public accounting firms, covering a variety of disciplines, including accounting & finance, risk management, internal audit and external audit.
Jane has dedicated her career to the professional development and education of Chartered Professional Accountants (CPA’s) across Canada. Working with CPA Ontario, she is the Coordinator for the Professional Practice portion of the School of Accountancy. Also for the CPA Ontario, Jane authors, presents and mentors the development of numerous professional development courses delivered to CPA’s across Canada. Jane also served as a member of the CPA Canada Competency Map Committee. Also for CPA Canada, Jane is a member of the core faculty involved in the preparation and presentation of in-depth IFRS courses for CPA Canada’s IFRS Immersion collection. Recently, she supervised the development of the course entitled “Auditing in the New CAS Environment” for CPA Canada for delivery across Canada through the various provincial institutes. She also assisted in the design and development of an on-line course for CPA Canada entitled “An Introduction to the CASs” and a second one entitled “An Introduction to ASPE”, also available to CPA’s across the country.
Jane has a keen interest and knowledge of the issues facing not-for-profit and small owner managed businesses and is often asked, to consult on matters related to these sectors. Jane currently lectures at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology (UOIT) in Oshawa and the Schulich School of Business at York University. During her career, she also lectured at various other universities in the undergraduate and MBA programs. Jane is the co-author of two publications, “Guide to Preparing Financial Statements”, and “Designing and Using Effective Analytical Procedures”, published by Carswell.
