LEVEL 4 – Tools & Techniques for Experienced Supervisors
2 DAYS / 14 PD HOURS – Minimum 3-4 busy seasons
This course is designed for individuals with a minimum of 3-4 busy seasons of experience, including experience planning and performing assurance engagements and supervising staff. This course is also beneficial for individuals in a supervisory role interested in developing their abilities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of engagements, their interactions with clients and team members, and their abilities to coach and mentor for long-term benefits.
This course advances the skills of experienced supervisors by improving their abilities to manage assurance engagements, engagement teams and all other stakeholders. Using project management techniques, participants explore each phase of an assurance engagement to find opportunities to improve engagement effectiveness and efficiency. It explores the design of audit responses in complex areas of auditing revenues, financial statement disclosures and areas where specialists are required. Focusing on developing the individual’s professional skills, this course introduces a four quadrant approach to understanding communication styles, and uncovers methods for adapting styles to improve interactions with others. The benefits of coaching and mentoring staff are explored while introducing a framework that encourages flexibility for success in leading others. In addition, this course provides strategies and tips for leading more productive client and engagement team meetings.
